Changming Liu

Chief Executive Officer

Changming Liu has a wealth of leadership, networking, security, big data, and machine learning expertise. Before founding Aella Data, he was a co-founder, CTO, and Board Member at Aerohive Networks, a cloud networking provider which successfully completed an IPO in 2014. Prior to founding Aerohive, Changming was a Distinguished Engineer at Juniper Networks, following the acquisition of NetScreen Technologies. At Netscreen he was a Sr. Manager and key architect in networking and security. He is an author of close to 20 patents and holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science from Tsinghua University in Beijing, and a M.S. in Computer and Electrical Engineering from Queen's University, Ontario, Canada.

John Peterson

Chief Product Officer

John is responsible for shaping the product roadmap, product strategy & go to market activity for Aella Data. He has an affinity for startups and has been a part of 4 that have gone IPO and 3 that have been acquired. Throughout his 30-year tenure, he has held leadership positions at multiple startups and early stage companies such as USRobotics, 3Com, Cisco Systems, Netscreen Technologies, Fortinet, Montego Networks, Juniper, Barracuda, Zscaler and Comodo. John also holds multiple patents and started his career as a United States Marine, where he lived abroad, serving as an Avionics Engineer.

Paul Jespersen

VP Corporate & Business Development

Paul Jespersen joins Aella Data as VP of Corporate & Business Development, responsible for global partner relationships, including Technology, OEM, Channel, and MSSP partners. Paul brings more than 25 years of security and networking sales and business development leadership to Aella Data, including most recently as VP Business Development at Lastline, and VP Business Development and Emerging Product Strategy at Comodo Enterprise. Paul earned his Bachelor's degree as well as his Master of Science in Technology Commercialization (MSTC) from the McCombs Graduate School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin.

Gregory Lebovitz

Advisor

Gregory Lebovitz is a technical executive, innovator, and strategist with a background in both Fortune 500 and early-stage start-up environments in the cyber security and networking markets. He thrives on the process of building and empowering teams that bring new products and solutions to market. He's done this for most of his career, at companies like NetScreen / Juniper, in two tours of duty at security start ups — as the first executive pre-series-A at vArmour, at post-series-A Vectra, crafting the company's second product area focus delivering data center threat detection — and most recently at Equinix, where he leads security innovation for digital and cloud transformation.

Rick Kagan

Advisor

Richard works with early and mid-stage start-ups on strategy, positioning, messaging, go-to- market and fund raising. He advises and invests in companies across a range of markets including big data and analytics, fintech, IoT, robotics, and security. As a senior executive in sales, marketing and general management, Richard has held helped to launch and position a number of successful companies including Echelon (ELON), VPNet (acquired by Avaya), Fortinet (FTNT) and Infoblox (BLOX). Richard holds a BSEE from the University of Michigan, an MSEE from the University of Calfornia, Berkeley and is a co-inventor on 6 patents in networking, security and database technology.

Raymond Wei

Advisor

Raymond has more than 20 years of experience in enterprise IT security as well as security product developments. He is currently VP of Security Engineering with American Express. Before that, he led mobile security product development at FireEye. Raymond was a founding engineer of Netscreen Technologies, where he led the development of industry-leading high-performance security products. Raymond holds a B.Sc. and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Tsinghua University, Beijing, and an Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California.
